A fire of considerable proportions broke out this Thursday evening in a building on "Ali Demi" Street, in Tirana.

According to preliminary information, the flames have engulfed the first floor of the building under still unclear circumstances, while the fire has spread rapidly, causing panic among residents of the area.


As a result of the fire, an elderly disabled man, identified as Theodhor Llulla, 72, has died. It is suspected that death was due to smoke asphyxiation.

Firefighters immediately arrived at the scene and are working to neutralize the flames, while ambulances have also been deployed for any emergency.

Police notification

"Around 21:20, on "Ali Demi" street, on the first floor of the apartment of citizen Th. Ll, 72 years old, a fire broke out. As a result, it is suspected that the 72-year-old lost his life.

The investigation team is at the scene and is working to determine the cause of the fire and fully clarify the circumstances of the incident," the police announced.
