US Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick recently visited the Ukrainian front and wrote a message to Russian President Vladimir Putin on an artillery shell.

Fitzpatrick, a Republican from Pennsylvania known for his support for Ukraine, visited Ukrainian forces yesterday after meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, reports the Telegraph.

During the visit, he said, his group was exposed to Russian shelling near the border, Russian drones followed their movements, and at one point they had to urgently leave the area.

"They are fighting for their democracy, they are fighting for freedom, all of us in the US should support them wholeheartedly," Fitzpatrick said in a video posted on his Facebook profile.

"I have always stood by them and I always will. I invite all my colleagues in Congress to come and see for themselves," he added.

In another video, Fitzpatrick was filmed writing a "very personal" message to Putin on a shell.

He wrote: “To: Putin, from PA-1. #PeaceThroughPower.”

PA-1 reportedly refers to his constituency in Pennsylvania, which he has represented since 2017.

He later added that "the message has reached the right place." /Telegraph/
