Amorim on first defeat as Man Utd manager: We lost from set pieces

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim admitted that Arsenal's standard striking was the deciding factor in their side's 2-0 win.

Arsenal beat United 2-0 at the Emirates on Wednesday night, handing Portuguese Amorim their first defeat.

“The set pieces changed the game. We could have been more aggressive in the Arsenal area", said Amorim initially.

"Until the stoppages, the game didn't have many chances for either team, set pieces killed the game."

Amorim admitted that Arsenal's ability to fill the area with players made it difficult for his side to defend against set pieces.

"They can put a lot of players near the goalkeeper and it's almost impossible to fight for the ball."

Despite the defeat, Amorim praised his side's commitment and organisation, but ultimately admitted Arsenal's standard strikes were the difference.
