US Central Command (CENTCOM) has said stealth B-2 bombers carried out a mission targeting Iranian facilities as part of an ongoing operation that began late last month.

"Stealth B-2 bombers take off to conduct a mission during Operation Epic Fury, using long-range firepower to not only eliminate the threat from the Iranian regime today, but also to eliminate their ability to rebuild in the future," CENTCOM said, sharing footage of the bombers.

Earlier, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said that all of Iran's defense systems would be destroyed "soon and very soon."

"Today will again be the highest volume of attacks that America has carried out over the skies of Iran and Tehran," Hegseth declared.

"The number of flights and the number of bomber sorties, the highest ever, is increasing and only increasing. And the quantity has a quality of its own as we continue to increase it," Hegseth told reporters alongside Gen. Dan Caine, chairman of the Army Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Israel and the US launched a joint attack on Iran on February 28, killing around 1,300 people so far, including then-supreme leader Ali Khamenei.

Tehran retaliated with drone and missile attacks targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries that are home to US military assets, resulting in casualties and damage to civilian infrastructure. /Telegraph/
