Aliu: For the first time we have a database for human resources in healthcare

The Minister of Health, Azir Aliu, today held an informative meeting with journalists, where the current situation and challenges facing the health system were discussed, as well as the priorities in the field of health for the coming year.
He focused on the five pillars on which the health system is based, in terms of infrastructure, new equipment, digitalization, legal regulations, and human resources available to public health institutions.
"The health system everywhere faces challenges. Since taking office as Minister of Health, in the first month and a half we initially conducted a scan of the situation, while now, at the end of the year, we have a database of the health system. For the first time so far, we have a human resources database, while soon we will also have a database of infrastructure and technologies related to the health system. From the aspect of laws, the challenges were great and 12 laws are already in the process of being reviewed and amended, while we are also working on 2 new laws that have not existed until now, but that the processes require us to have. I estimate that by the end of February all laws will be completed and we will inform about them in more detail", emphasized Minister Aliu.
Regarding other challenges facing the healthcare sector, Minister Aliu informed that six groups have been created to monitor clinical problems during the provision of health services to patients. Of these, five groups have so far determined that no clinical problems have been identified.
