Albanian police have finalized the operation codenamed "Barkëtari", arresting a 29-year-old from Puka who is suspected of transporting drugs, TNT and combat ammunition towards Kosovo.

According to the official announcement, the suspect LP had traveled by boat from the village of Apripë in Puka towards Tropoja, where he then parked a vehicle. Volkswagen in order to avoid police checks.


Inside the trunk of the car, the Police found and seized:

1.2 kilograms of cannabis,

405 grams of TNT,

51 detonating caps,

5 meters of fire-retardant wick,

combat ammunition,

as well as a sum of money.

The operation was carried out by the services of the Kuka Police Department, the Tropoja Police and the "Eagle" Special Force, following operational information that the material would be transferred to Kosovo.

The suspect was arrested red-handed in the village of Dushaj, where he was caught driving the vehicle in which he was hiding the prohibited materials.

Albanian authorities announce that cooperation is continuing with the Prosecutor's Office and counterparts in Kosovo to fully document the case and identify the person who was expected to receive the shipment in Kosovo.

The materials have been processed for further investigative actions.
