During a panel organized by the Clinton Global Initiative, where the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, was also present, former US President Bill Clinton brought to attention an everyday, but extremely symbolic story about coexistence and the power of peace.

He talked about a place he visits often, a tacos restaurant where the owner is Kosovar and the manager is Serbian.

"We have a taco place where most of the workers are Mexican or Guatemalan, but the owner is an Albanian from Kosovo. And here's the interesting part — the manager, the one who gives me a beer every time I come in, is Serbian. This is amazing," Clinton said, adding that there are two Kosovar families living on the same street where he and his wife, Hillay, live.

This simple moment, according to Clinton, best reflects the reality that has been worth fighting for – a world where people from different nations and histories can work, coexist, and build together.

On the same panel, Clinton also focused on the historic decision to intervene in Kosovo in 1999, mentioning the doubts he had heard, but also his unwavering conviction.

"Many thought I was crazy when I got involved in Kosovo. But I told them: look, this will be the only place in the modern world where a war will be won through our air power, because the Kosovars will never surrender, and in the end it will be very costly for the Serbs to continue fighting – and we will save more lives that way," said former US President Clinton.

Meanwhile, President Osmani said that Kosovo has learned that freedom should not be taken for granted and people always need alliances to move forward. /Telegrafi/
