Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama announced today, January 17, via social media that Albania has been invited to become part of the Gaza Peace Board, an international initiative conceived by US President Donald Trump.

In his post, Rama says he feels deeply honored by the personal invitation and considers this an important step for the country in the international arena. According to him, Albania is represented as a founding member, climbing another peak unimaginable just a few years ago, and this also reflects the country's growing influence in the international arena.

Rama also emphasizes that this invitation is a reflection of the deep strategic partnership relations between Albania and the United States of America, which have been significantly strengthened in recent years. He expresses that he feels proud of Albania's transformation and the respect that the country has gained internationally.

"Very honored by President Trump's personal invitation to represent Albania on the peace board, a new international organization conceived by him, where Albania is invited as a founding member, thus reaching another completely unimaginable peak internationally just a few years ago. I could not be more proud of Albania, for everything we have done in these years, turning it into a different Albania, dignified and respected worldwide as never before, and undoubtedly for the level to which we have raised our strategic partnership relationship with the United States of America, being invited with a very special respect and appreciation by President Donald J. Trump, to become part of an international board created and chaired by him himself and to work together with him," Rama writes.

The Gaza Peace Board was announced by Donald Trump as an international organization with the aim of promoting peace and stability in the Middle East region. It includes internationally recognized figures, including political leaders, diplomats and civil society representatives, who will work for dialogue and a peaceful solution to the conflict between Israel and Palestine. Albania’s inclusion as a founding member demonstrates not only a recognition of its diplomatic role, but also a new opportunity to contribute to an issue of global importance.
