Albania marked another step forward on its journey towards the European Union, opening four more chapters.

Prime Minister Edi Rama and European Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos, held a press conference in Brussels.

Kos said that Albania's speed is impressive.

"Albania's speed is impressive. This brings us to 5 open chapters and 28 open ones. I know that the Danish Presidency and the member states are committed to progress. It will be faster, higher and a team effort. This result is a result of the work of the Albanian authorities, despite the elections that have taken place. Your beloved country, Prime Minister, shows that it can be done and the EU rewards this positive change.

Keep up the pace. It is important to start closing the chapters as soon as possible… The reform it contains is the protection of Albania's natural resources. Transport in this chapter will help improve roads and transportation. 91% of Albanian citizens are in favor of EU membership and are the highest figures among candidate countries. We are one step closer to achieving the goal," Kos said, reports Tch.
