Al-Ittihad president Anmar Al Haili insists on his great obsession with being able to sign Leo Messi (in 2023 he even offered him 400 million euros per year).
The Saudi club's manager has made it clear once again that money would not be an obstacle to seeing Messi in the yellow and black jersey and ensures that Messi could personally choose his salary and the length of the contract.
"If Messi agrees to sign with Al Ittihad, I would offer him a contract where he could earn whatever amount he wants, for as long as he wants, even for life," Al Haili initially said.
Al Haili confirmed his previous attempts to sign Messi, who, after leaving PSG in 2023, decided to continue his career with Inter Miami.
"Yes, I contacted him before, when his contract with PSG ended. I offered him 1.4 billion euros. He rejected such a big offer for the sake of his family, even though I had convinced him. However, he did not hesitate to reject it because family is more important than money. I respect him and Al Ittihad will always welcome him; he can come whenever he wants."
Everything indicates that Al-Ittihad and the Saudi Arabian Super League will have to wait, as in October 2025, Messi (38 years old) renewed his contract with Inter Miami until December 2028.
