"Against everything and everyone", Barcelona players and president Laporta react after La Liga triumph

Barcelona were confirmed as La Liga champions on Thursday night, after a 2-0 win over Espanyol gave them an unassailable lead over Real Madrid with two games to go.

This brings to an end a magnificent season for the Catalans, who completed a domestic treble despite being underestimated by many at the start of the season.

After the triumph, all of Barcelona's players have reacted and feel happy after being crowned with the title after a difficult season and with much criticism towards them.

President Joan Laporta criticizes critics

Of course, there were plenty of celebrations in the dressing room after the match. And the man who led them? Joan Laporta. According to Diario AS, the Barcelona president had to leave the stage to express his thoughts on the success.

"I had the privilege of celebrating with the players. There was maximum euphoria, players who know each other, a team that has music, they always dance there, they live it a lot, they live without complexes. They have made Barça fall in love with them and that is not easy. A symbiosis that we are all excited about. We have recovered joy and pride. A coach who has led them in a wonderful way, one of the keys to success. A historic season."

"We have won a league against everything and everyone. They have tried to destabilize us like never before, they have put thousands of obstacles in our way. It is a league of 'cule's' who have supported us and trusted us to maintain institutional stability. We have won three titles by excellence," said Laporta.

Lamine Yamal recognises the importance of winning the La Liga title

The 17-year-old sensation made the difference for Barcelona at the RCDE Stadium, scoring one goal and assisting another. He also spoke to the media about being crowned La Liga champions.

"We are very happy. There are always doubts until the end, you know? This is something very important for the club and we have achieved it," Yamal said briefly.

Raphinha: This is just the beginning for Barcelona

Raphinha had a quiet evening against Espanyol, which he admitted to himself when speaking to the media. He also made it clear that Barcelona's success this season is just the beginning.

"Individually it was one of my worst games this season. It's my second league and I hope to win many more. I think we have to focus on what is ours. If we do our job and don't look at others, the chances increase. We didn't have to look at Real Madrid. We knew we had a very poor first half, but we were better in the second half."

"I won't stop here. With this shirt in Spain I have won everything possible and now we have to go for the Champions League, which is the dream of our club, not only of the players and staff. We were close this season, but next season we will go for everything," said Raphinha.

Fermin Lopez addresses the celebration situation

Lopez scored the goal that secured Barcelona the La Liga title, and was another one to speak to the media after the match. He spoke about the on-field celebrations at the RCDE stadium, which were quiet compared to two years ago.

"We achieved the objective, we worked hard to get here and I think we deserved it. Today we compensate for the goal that was disallowed in the match against Real Madrid. Ultimately I understand what happened last time, but I think we don't hurt anyone. We don't show disrespect, we won our league and we celebrated very little," said Lopez. /Telegraph/
