A sensational statement made by famous singer G Bani on TikTok has brought immediate consequences.

The artist, in a video expressing his outrage at the offensive comments he had received, said, among other things: "If I knew they were so racist towards me, I wouldn't have felt it even in '99."

This sentence was deemed unacceptable by the organizers of the “Month of Exile” festival in Drenas, who announced the cancellation of the concert scheduled for the following evening. In an official statement, they expressed their concern over the language used by the artist.

"As organizers of this festival, we consider offensive language and lack of ethics in communication unacceptable. This festival already enjoys a high reputation and cannot be a platform for artists who display denigrating attitudes towards our citizens," the announcement states.

The organizers emphasized that the "Month of the Diaspora" is an event that aims to unite Albanians from the diaspora with those in their homeland, through culture, respect and dignity. Any performance that conflicts with these values will not be tolerated.

"Respect for all genuine artists who contribute with professionalism, ethics and love to the Albanian public," the statement further added.

After the concert was canceled, G Bani reacted again with a video, where he said that his comments were directed at a group of followers who had insulted him, and not at all the citizens of Kosovo. But, according to the organizers, his words had crossed the tolerable limit and the decision to cancel remains irreversible.

This move is seen as an important precedent for public festivals in the country: artists are welcome to bring energy, talent, and unity – but not division, disdain, or hate speech. /Telegraph/
