After the arrest, Dardan Molliqaj appears before the court, the hearing is postponed and the arrest warrant against him is revoked.

A hearing was held at the Basic Court in Pristina against Dardan Molliqaj, who is being charged with the criminal offense of "assault on an official person".

Dardan Molliqaj was arrested today during the day in Pristina. An arrest warrant had been issued against him.

Molliqaj's lawyer, Dren Kukaj, has requested that the hearing be postponed to another day. According to him, invitations to appear in court have never reached Molliqaj's address.

"I request that the session be postponed because we are not equipped with the case files. Once we have the files, then it will be held. I propose to the court that the arrest warrant be revoked since the defendant is present in the proceedings. [Molliqaj] is willing to come to the session. The invitations have never reached his address. But, from now on, we are here and we will appear," said lawyer Kukaj, reports Kallxo.com.

The court ruled to postpone the hearing to 30.04.2025.

The Kosovo Police Rapid Reaction Unit has arrested today, 17.04.2025, the chairman of the Social Democratic Party, Dardan Molliqaj.

As PSD announced, he was on his way to a meeting.

"This arrest is totally beyond any rationality. Since he has not even received an invitation from the court and at the same time is in his routine every day and can be easily found, this behavior cannot be read otherwise than as political pressure and a demonstration of force by a unit created for emergency and dangerous situations, not to stop the political opposition," the PSD's response states.
