After statements about internationals, Kurti dismisses Deputy Minister Arbër Vokrri

The acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has today dismissed the Deputy Minister of Local Government Administration, Arbër Vokrri.

This decision comes after public statements made in the media by Vokrri, in which he accused diplomats and representatives of international institutions of involvement in the tense developments in northern Kosovo.

In particular, Vokrri has mentioned by name the European Union Ambassador to Kosovo, Aivo Orav, accusing him and others of actions that, according to him, have incited unrest in that part of the country.

The statement said that Vokrri's statements do not represent the positions of the Government.

"The acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has today dismissed the Deputy Minister of Local Government Administration, Arbër Vokrri. This decision comes after his statements that international diplomats and representatives of international institutions, specifically mentioning the Head of the EU Office in Kosovo, Ambassador Aivo Orav, have incited unrest in the north of the country with their actions. Mr. Vokrri's statements do not represent the positions of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo," the statement said, according to the Telegraph.

Arbër Vokrri, Deputy Minister of Local Government, on KTV's "60 Minutes" show, on Thursday, 22.05.2025, said that the international side itself incited the riots. He also accused the head of the EU Office in Kosovo, Aivo Orav, of inciting these riots.

Therefore, the acting Minister of Justice, Albulena Haxhiu, reacted to Vokrri's statements on Thursday. /Telegrafi/
