After fleeing Kosovo and joining Sweden, Besfort Zeneli continues to give interviews: I am happy to play for this national team

Besfort Zeneli is another footballer who has betrayed Kosovo and chosen to play for another national team.

The Swedish midfielder was part of the Kosovo U21 National Team, but later remembered that his big dream is to play for the Swedish National Team.

The 22-year-old left the Kosovo U21 National Team, and even rejected the A National Team last year in favor of Sweden.

Now he has made his debut for the Swedish national team, playing in two matches, while proudly saying that he rejected Kosovo to make his dream a reality.

"It has always been clear to me that I want to play for Sweden. I turned down the call-up to the Kosovo national team last year. It was a risk I took, but I felt I wanted to follow my dream. It was nice to be invited to the March rally," the Swedish midfielder tells 'Aftonbladet'.

"Coach Tomason called me just before the meeting and explained how he saw me, that they've been following me for a long time. They've watched every single game for nine months and they think I look interesting. He said early on that they would call me to the meeting this March. It was a relief," Besfort Zeneli declared.

Zeneli also recounts the moment he received the invitation. "I was next to my brother Arbër and he heard everything. Then I called my father on the phone immediately and told him, until he started crying with joy," says Zeneli.

The Swedish team midfielder stayed with Kosovo U21 for a year and a half, playing six matches. /Telegraph/
