After 10 days of arguments, the defense is optimistic about Hashim Thaçi's release

Hashim Thaçi's lawyer, Lluka Mishetić, expressed optimism that his client will be released.
"It was a long legal process, a protracted battle in the courtroom. In conclusion, we have every reason to be optimistic about a very positive outcome. It is always unwise to make predictions in legal matters, as the final decision depends on the judges. However, based on the arguments presented over the last 10 days, both by the prosecution and the defense, we believe that we are right in terms of both evidence and law. Therefore, we expect a very favorable outcome for our client," he stated.
Asked about the statements made the night before by Kosovo's chief diplomat, Glauk Konjufca, who said that every action or inaction of the institutions has been in consultation with the defense teams, Mishetic responded that he does not want to comment on internal political issues.
Meanwhile, Thaçi, in his speech before the trial panel, emphasized that there is only one truth: he is completely innocent.
"How can anyone claim that we intended to take control in Kosovo when we accepted that the international community would have the main say in Kosovo and then that the KLA would hand over its weapons to NATO, as it happened," he said. /Telegraph/
