Adult film star mistaken for pilot of Delta plane that crashed in Toronto

Social media users were the victims of a prank identifying porn star Johnny Sins as the pilot of the Delta plane that crashed in Toronto on Monday.

A satirical post by an X user showed an image of Sins in a Delta pilot's uniform with the caption: 'This is Jonathan Simpson, the pilot of the crashed Delta plane in Toronto, Canada.

Thanks to over 420 hours of flight time in 69 types of piloted aircraft, his quick thinking saved many lives, reports the Telegraph.

"Can this hero get an RT," was one comment.

Although some quickly got the joke – Sins is often parodied for the many characters he has portrayed in adult films – others seemed to accept it.

"420 hours is too little," wrote one X user.

'Are you sure about this? This is certainly not enough to assess the type in dozens of piloted aircraft,' another comment said.

The post eventually received a community note marking it as false and 'AI-generated'.

Delta has yet to officially name the pilot or pilots involved in the crash, which saw the passenger plane roll onto an icy runway with 80 people on board. /Telegraph/
