Accused of corruption, SPAK demands four and a half years in prison for the former head of the Vlora Prosecution Office

The Special Prosecution Office (SPAK) has requested a sentence of 4 years and 6 months in prison for Aurel Zarka, former head of the Vlora Prosecution Office.

According to sources for A2 CNN, if the court decides so, Zarka will ultimately be sentenced to 3 years in prison due to the summary trial.

Aurel Zarka is accused of the criminal offenses of "exercising illegal influence over persons exercising public functions", committed 3 times, in collaboration 2 times, "active corruption of judges, prosecutors and other justice officials", committed in collaboration, as well as "passive corruption of judges, prosecutors and other justice officials".


According to SPAK, the investigations revealed that Aurel Zarka was one of the users of Sky Ecc, which enabled secret communications.

"It has been proven that he has requested monetary values ​​for a case in the Vlora Prosecutor's Office. It has been proven that he has requested monetary values ​​to favor another case, in collaboration with Radovan Çela," the claim against him stated.

Meanwhile, it remains to be seen what decision the Special Anti-Corruption Court will make regarding the charges and sentence requested by SPAK against Zarka.
