On the 81st birthday of President Ibrahim Rugova, the leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Lumir Abdixhiku, visited his family and announced the inclusion of Ukë Rugova on the LDK electoral list.

"I accepted with the greatest respect the request of the Rugova Family that Ukë Ibrahim Rugova be part of our electoral list," Abdixhiku said during the visit.

He added that during this visit we also formalized Uka's inclusion in the next competition.

"Ukë, good luck in this competition," Abdixhiku wrote.

Abdixhiku also emphasized Rugova's legacy and vision for Kosovo.

"Rugova's message remains the same: peaceful force, democratic commitment, unchanged orientation towards the Western world," said the leader of the LDK.

Abdixhiku recalled Rugova's life and achievements, emphasizing that he was the man who turned the dream of freedom into a political project, who built the eternal state we have, and who placed Kosovo on the world map as a just, reasonable, and necessary issue.

Abdixhiku also highlighted Rugova's role in the establishment of the LDK and the state formation of Kosovo.

"When the great call of '89 was made, he left literature to become the shield of a nation. From there, the LDK was born. And from the LDK, the path of modern Albanian statehood in Kosovo was born," he said.

The LDK leader emphasized that this is the reason why Rugova only has birthdays.

"Because his light does not go out; his history is not forgotten; his path is not alienated," said Abdixhiku. /Telegraph/
