Abdixhiku: LDK awaits the decree for the dissolution of the Parliament after 12:00

The leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Lumir Abdixhiku, has announced that the LDK expects the dissolution of the Kosovo Assembly after midnight, following the failure to find consensus on the election of the president.
"With regret, let me emphasize that the Kosovo Assembly and parliamentary parties have not managed to find the necessary consensus for the president of the unity of the people of Kosovo."
"LDK has made efforts for political agreement and to reach a broad consensus. Unfortunately, this consensus required over 80 votes, which were not secured. Kosovo is heading towards a new electoral process. At 00:00 midnight, LDK welcomes the decree for the dissolution of the Parliament," Abdixhiku told reporters.
He added that LDK has acted with high state and national awareness, offering alternatives and solutions to all political parties, but their willingness has not matched the ambitions of other parties.
"The current session is mono-party, with two candidates from one party. Consensus and unity are not achieved like this. Two-thirds of the votes of the Assembly are needed for the president," he stressed.
This warning comes at a time when political parties have failed to agree on a common candidate, leading the country towards early parliamentary elections./Telegraph.
