The leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Lumir Abdixhiku, has announced that he has rejected the moral resignation of Xhafer Gashi following the election results in the Municipality of Obiliq.

Abdixhiku emphasized that defeats and victories are part of a long political journey and that the common goal of the LDK is greater than any single battle.

"Today, LDK in Obiliq is the leading party with a full 46% and this achievement is the merit of Xhafa and the team he has," Abdixhiku wrote in a post, describing Gashi as "a man of his word, work and silent dedication to his citizens."

He said that Xhafer Gashi has given Obiliq "direction, dignity and stability" during his years of leadership, adding that LDK needs people with character and vision like him.

For this reason, Abdixhiku announced that he has reconfirmed Gashi in his positions within the LDK, both in the Obiliq Branch, as well as in the party's Presidency and General Council.

"LDK does not abandon its people in a difficult moment; on the contrary, it knows how to handle both victory and defeat with full dignity," concluded Abdixhiku, emphasizing that stability and trust are the values that guide the party in every challenge.
