The leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Lumir Abdixhiku, has reacted after Hykmete Bajrami's resignation from the position of deputy leader of the party, reiterating Wednesday's statement that he has offered his resignation from the top post.tar.

Abdixhiku said that the decision does not reflect his personal opinion, but is the result of a five-hour debate with party members, where every criticism, concern, and opinion was discussed.

"I have taken the most moral step a mayor can take: I have offered my resignation. I have opened the way for anyone who has claims. You are free to run; in the Assembly you have the opportunity. Now the decision is no longer mine, it is LDK's," he said.

The LDK leader emphasized that he is not tied to position, but to the party's "home", and called for debate and decision-making to take place openly in the Assembly, respecting the party's institutions and internal democracy.

"Because above every name is LDK. And so it belongs to all of us," Abdixhiku concluded.

Meanwhile, today, Hykmete Bajrami has irrevocably resigned from the position of vice-president of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) and at the same time has requested the resignation of the party's president, Lumir Abdixhiku.

In a public statement, Bajrami said that this action is based on the LDK's political standard, according to which those who receive poor election results must be held accountable and pave the way for internal party elections.

In the last elections, the LDK secured only 13.23 percent of the vote, 5 percentage points less than in the February 2025 elections./Telegrafi.
