The Association of Kosovo Journalists (AGK) welcomes today's decision by the acting Government of Kosovo to allocate the budget for the Public Broadcaster, RTK, from the savings category.

Their response states that this decision is a belated relief for the 700 RTK employees and their families.

"AGK regrets that the situation of long waits for salaries has been repeated twice within the year. Even today's decision is temporary. AGK calls for stable financing of RTK to be a priority in the new legislature next year, as well as solving the property problem through a new law," the announcement says.

AGK also calls for the editorial independence of the Public Broadcaster to be respected and for political pressure from the Government and the Vetëvendosje political party to stop. /Telegrafi/
