AGK expresses concern over non-renewal of contracts of two journalists at RTK

The Association of Kosovo Journalists (AGK) has expressed its "deep concern" over the decision of the management of the Public Broadcaster, RTK, to not extend the employment contracts of two journalists, Hana Marteti and Edina Avdiu.
The AGK considers that their termination of engagement at RTK is directly related to their professional work and unwillingness to submit to pressure and make compromises in professional reporting.
"The termination of contracts without performance evaluation has all the hallmarks of a pre-planned and vindictive decision against journalists, including the fact that management was aware of Ms. Avdiu's pregnancy. This is a harmful practice that undermines public trust in RTK," the AGK statement continued.
The AGK says it expresses full solidarity with colleagues Marteti and Avdiu, and will offer them legal assistance to challenge this decision.
