A year after Liam Payne's death, his family donates money to sick children

In memory of singer Liam Payne, who tragically died last October, almost 290 thousand euros have been raised to help children with cancer.
His family appealed for donations at the star's funeral held in November last year, The Sun reports.
The funds raised will help fund a unit at London's Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Payne died at the age of 31 after a crash in Buenos Aires on October 16 last year.
Although the publicly visible amount on the JustGiving donation page is 39,400 euros, the total amount of donations has reached almost 290 thousand euros.
Liz Tait, the hospital's director of fundraising, expressed her gratitude.
"We are deeply touched by the generosity shown to the hospital in Liam's memory. Every donation helps us take another step towards becoming a world-leading center for childhood cancer, a place of hope that will help shape the future of childhood cancer care and save more lives. It is a lasting legacy that will make a difference for generations."
Payne was known for his humanitarian side during his lifetime. He once donated around 11 euros in one night to sick children. /Telegraph/
