An emergency has been declared in Formby, Merseyside, England, after a deer used in a festive event escaped from the site.

Police, Royal Navy and coastguard teams engaged in an extensive search for the large horned animal.


Authorities chased her for hours until they lost track of her in the evening, fearing she might head towards the River Mersey.

Rescue teams also used thermal imaging binoculars to locate him.

After searching, the deer was spotted on the beach and headed towards the dune area.

Police intervention and a surveillance drone helped bring the animal to safety. /Telegraph/
