The Municipal Council for Community Safety (MCCS) of Peja, chaired by the Mayor, Gazmend Muhaxheri, held its fourth meeting for 2025, discussing the current state of security and infrastructural developments in the municipality.

The meeting was opened by the MCSB Coordinator, Fatmir Asllani, who confirmed participation, presented the agenda and the minutes of the previous meeting, which were approved by all members.


During the meeting, the security situation in the municipality's territory, the situation in schools at the beginning of the 2025-2026 school year, the rehabilitation of roads and road infrastructure in the city and villages, as well as citizens' concerns regarding public safety, were discussed.

Mayor Muhaxheri reported on the completed infrastructure projects, including the bridge connecting the Universi section with the former Leather and Footwear Factory, the asphalting of several roads in the city and Rugova, the construction of irrigation canals, public lighting works in the villages of Nakull and Gorozhdevc, and the construction of a community house in Ozdrim.

The Commander of the Police Station in Peja, Faik Jahmurataj, reported that the security situation in the municipality continues to be calm and stable. The Director of Education, Naser Gega, presented the situation in school facilities and transportation in rural areas, while the Director of Municipal Works and Public Services, Agron Nikçi, reported on the rehabilitation of roads and damage to infrastructure.

The Head of the Information Technology Sector, Labinot Dezdari, spoke about security in the municipality, public lighting and camera monitoring, while Ms. Nora Draga from the KLSP identified citizens' concerns regarding public safety.

The meeting ended with discussions, questions from MCSB members, as well as conclusions and recommendations for improving security and infrastructure in the municipality. /Telegrafi/
