A person has been arrested for allegedly being involved in two cases of theft of two vehicles and taking possession of movable items (phone, passport and ID card).
According to a media release, the incident occurred in the north and south of Mitrovica and the cases were classified as criminal offenses of "theft" and "Taking possession of movable property."
"On 11.03.2025, a person suspected of involvement in 2 cases of the criminal offenses 'Theft' and 'Taking possession of movable property' was arrested. Cases reported at the Mitrovica North and Mitrovica South Police Stations during the past week.
The suspect Xh. N., was arrested after intensive work by the police units of the Mitrovica North Police Station. His arrest was carried out on the basis of evidence and evidence obtained that he was involved in the theft of two vehicles as well as a case of taking possession of movable property (phone, passport and ID card)," the announcement states.
It is further announced that the police have taken all necessary actions, where the suspect, after being arrested, was brought to the police station, and he was also tested with an alcohol test, which resulted in him being under the influence of alcohol.
"All actions taken have been reported to the State Prosecutor, who has issued a decision ordering the suspect's detention for 48 hours.
"The suspect, after being detained for 48 hours, was interviewed and admitted to having committed the crimes he was charged with, and was released by order of the prosecutor, while for other cases in the South Mitrovica area, he was handed over to the competent investigative officials," the announcement states. /Telegrafi/
