A few hours before the match with the Netherlands, De la Fuente surprises Raul Asensio
Raul Asensio has been left out of Spain's squad for their Nations League quarter-final first leg against the Netherlands later on Thursday night.
This is Asencio's first rodeo with the Spanish national team at the age of 22.
Barcelona striker Ferran Torres and Villarreal striker Yermy Pino are also off the list.
Spain are playing their first Nations League quarter-final away from home, before hosting the Dutch at home later in the week.
Asensio is shining at Real Madrid and this led to him receiving his first invitation to the Red Fury.
Luis de la Fuente left the player off the list, surprising with his decision, as the defender is a reinforcement that Spain will need a lot. /Telegraph/
