An archaeological team in Utah has found a bottle of alcohol estimated to be 150 years old, and experts have given it a taste test.

Ian Wright, Utah's public state archaeologist, said the bottle was among thousands of artifacts dating from 1870-1890 found on U.S. Forest Service land.

"When they got it, it was still full. There was still a cork inside," Wright said.

"We realized, 'Oh my God, this is a real treasure,'" he added.

Wright said the find is the only known intact bottle of alcohol that has been found from that time period.

Experts said the liquid appeared to be a low-alcohol beer.

Now they hope to recreate the drink. /Telegraph/
