97 dead in Kosovo from traffic accidents within a year

Last year alone, 97 people lost their lives on Kosovo's roads. According to traffic experts, the main causes remain speeding, using phones while driving, and disregarding road signs.

The number of people who died on Kosovo's roads is 97, based on the latest road traffic statistics for the previous year, i.e. during the period January-December 2024.

According to these statistics from the authorities, accidents remain a major concern for the safety of Kosovar citizens.

Nol Dedaj, a communications expert, estimates that the situation has worsened significantly compared to previous years.

The main causes of accidents continue to be speeding, using mobile phones while driving, and disregarding road signs.

The lack of safe infrastructure, as well as citizens' avoidance of safety measures, are also factors contributing to the increase in accidents.

In the last two years, 22 accidents have been recorded throughout Kosovo, and the traffic police have issued a total of 586 fines to violators./RTK
