A 76-year-old man has been arrested by the Durrës Police after he attempted to kill his wife with a hard object, leaving her seriously injured.
The State Police statement states that as a result of the beatings, the 70-year-old woman suffered serious physical injuries and was immediately transported to the Tirana Trauma Hospital for medical assistance.

The 76-year-old man attempted to kill his wife by seriously injuring her with a hard object, and was immediately arrested by the police.
The services of the Durrës Police Commissariat, upon receiving notification of a case of domestic violence in neighborhood no. 17, immediately went to the given address, making it possible to prevent further escalation of violence with serious consequences for life.
Following the actions, in collaboration with the Specialists for the Investigation of Crimes against the Person at the Durrës Local Police Directorate, they arrested citizen AR, 76 years old, the suspected perpetrator of the incident, in flagrante delicto.
The initial investigation revealed that the 76-year-old man, during a petty conflict in the apartment, had physically assaulted his wife, FD, 70, by hitting her on the head with a hard object (a wooden stick). The immediate intervention of the Police prevented the escalation of violence with serious consequences for her life.
As a result of the blows, the 70-year-old woman suffered serious physical injuries and was immediately transported to the Tirana Trauma Hospital for medical assistance.
