Gjirokastra Police have sent the materials to the prosecutor's office to launch an investigation into the Nursing Home, where a 72-year-old woman lost her life.
Two citizens were involved in this investigation, DD, 50 years old, director of the Gjirokastra Home for the Elderly, and Dh. Zh., 52 years old, head caregiver at this institution.
The investigations were conducted after the event of March 4, 2026, when in this institution, citizen Sh. Z., 72 years old, was suspected of having accidentally fallen from the terrace.
Later, during transportation to the Trauma Hospital, she lost her life. According to preliminary investigations, it turned out that the elderly woman had thrown herself from the terrace.
The police announce that legal proceedings against the institution's leaders are ongoing, while the Prosecutor's Office is examining all the circumstances of the incident. /euronews.al/
