The State Police has announced a case of undeclared cash at the Kapshtica border crossing.
In a statement, the State Police announced that the suspect had attempted to hide 38 thousand US dollars on his body.
"The services of the Crime Investigation Section of the Korça DVKM, in continuation of the work to prevent and combat illegality, based on information received on the operational route, near the Kapshtica Border Police Station, have stopped for inspection the vehicle driven by citizen Gj. F.
During the physical search, undeclared US$38,000 was found hidden on this citizen's body, the announcement states.
Further, during the search of the apartment, 35,000 euros were found. The monetary amounts were seized as material evidence.
At the end of the actions, for citizen Gj. F., 67 years old, resident of Korça, the materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office for the criminal offenses "Failure to declare money and valuables at the border" and "Laundering the proceeds of a criminal offense or criminal activity".
The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of Korçë General Jurisdiction, for further actions. /Telegraph/
