620 packages of chocolates confiscated in Dheu i Bardhë, their value reaches over 10 thousand euros

Kosovo Customs units, in cooperation with the Border Police, seized yesterday a significant amount of undeclared food products on an international bus entering the country through the Dheu i Bardhë border crossing.
The bus was stopped around 12:30 for a routine check, and after the passengers declared that they had no goods to present, the vehicle was selected for a detailed check at the second line.
During the inspection, in modified and camouflaged spaces inside the bus, customs officers discovered 620 packages of chocolate, with a total weight of 1,380 kg and a value of over 10,000 euros.
The undeclared goods were confiscated, while a procedure for customs violations was initiated against the person involved, according to the legislation in force.
Kosovo Customs emphasizes that the transportation of food products in inappropriate conditions and outside of official controls poses a serious risk to consumer health, as they may be damaged or contaminated.
The institution reaffirms its commitment to strengthening border controls, protecting the market and preventing any form of evasion of customs duties. /Telegraph/
