The State Police have announced that they have arrested citizen Spartak Joanu, 56 years old, after he was sentenced in Italy to 16 years and 4 months in prison for the criminal offenses "Criminal group in drug trafficking" and "Criminal group with the aim of exploiting prostitution".

The announcement states that the Border Police Services of the Muriqan BCP, as a result of increased controls and the exchange of information with Interpol Tirana, have arrested at the entrance to the Republic of Albania citizen Spartak Joanu, 56 years old, resident of Fier.


"This citizen was declared internationally wanted, after the Court of Appeal in Ancona, Italy, sentenced him to 16 years and 4 months in prison for the criminal offenses 'Criminal group in drug trafficking' and 'Criminal group with the aim of exploiting prostitution', in accordance with Italian criminal legislation.

"Interpol Tirana, in cooperation with Interpol Rome, will carry out the procedures for the extradition of the 56-year-old to Italy," the announcement states. /Telegraph/
