A 40-year-old man from Kosovo, internationally wanted by Finnish authorities for drug trafficking, was arrested this Monday by Border Police services at the Morinë Border Crossing Point.

According to the official announcement, during detailed checks at the entrance to the territory of the Republic of Albania, as part of operations to crack down on illegalities at the border and identify wanted persons, in cooperation with the structures of the Kukes Police Department, the police detained the citizen:


Sh. H., 40 years old, resident of Kosovo.

From the verifications carried out in cooperation with Interpol Tirana, it was confirmed that a security measure of "Arrest in prison" had been issued against him by the Southern District Prosecutor's Office of Helsinki, for the criminal offense of "Trafficking in narcotics".

The 40-year-old has been arrested for extradition purposes, while Interpol Tirana has initiated procedures for his handover to the Finnish authorities. /Telegraph/
