YouTube, 40% of traffic comes from mobile devices

Although Google has published very positive financial results for the last quarter of the year, the company's decline in the cost per click that it charges advertisers has continued.

One of the main reasons for this decline has been Google's difficulty in generating revenue from its mobile sites and apps, which are rapidly replacing its desktop-based sites.

According to AllThingsD, traffic from mobile devices now represents 40 percent of all YouTube traffic, up from 25 percent in 2012, or just 6 percent in 2011.

And according to analysts, this will be a problem for Google, because today there are many ways to buy advertising from YouTube in its desktop-based format, but only one possibility to do this from mobile devices - the TrueView format, which users can stop it.

Now it's up to Google to figure out a new model for advertising on YouTube from its mobile app, or face declining revenue from the service. / Telegraph /
