After 17 years of investigation, Greek Police have managed to uncover a major theft that occurred in 2008 at a bank branch in Kifisia, near Athens.

The value of the money and items stolen from the bank's safe amounts to 4 million euros.

The suspected perpetrators of the incident, two Kosovo citizens, have been declared wanted.

The robbery occurred in August 2008, when unknown persons broke a window of the bank and entered to steal money and valuables.

Further investigations by the Criminal Investigations Directorate of the Greek Police have led to the identification of two Kosovo citizens as the possible perpetrators of the theft.

They are Basri Berisha, 53 years old (alias Basri Ramadani), and Sinan Beqiroski, 54 years old (alias Sinan Bekjiroski).

Berisha, who is currently being held in a detention center in France, is a familiar name to international authorities, having previously been arrested for similar offenses in Germany and Kosovo.

From the comparative analysis of the data, it has been established that Berisha is also involved in an attempted robbery in 2009 at a bank branch in Athens, as well as in the theft of a safe and ATM in 2010 at a supermarket in Crete.

Investigations continue, while the Greek Police is cooperating with international authorities for the arrest and extradition of the suspects, who face serious charges of theft and money laundering, reports NOA, Telegrafi reports.
