The Basic Court in Prizren has reacted to reports that 35 detainees in the Kosovo Security Bureau case are being held without a decision after the legal deadline has expired.

The Basic Court of Prizren, in a press release, emphasizes that upon the conclusion of the hearing session for the determination of security measures against 39 defendants, the Pre-Trial Judge on Friday at the end of the session (22:10), has concluded in the minutes that the defendants will be returned to their detention centers so that the Court can notify them regarding the ruling on the proposal/request of the Basic Prosecution Office in Prizren.

"This decision of the Pre-Trial Judge was taken in accordance with Article 162 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, paragraph 8, which states that 'As soon as possible, but no later than within 48 hours of arrest, the pre-trial judge shall hold a hearing to decide whether the defendant should be held in custody (in this specific case, a hearing was held within 48 hours at the Basic Court of Prizren), and the paragraph continues by stating that 'Pending the court's decision, the defendant may be held in custody', which the Pre-Trial Judge also noted in the minutes in this specific case," the announcement states. /Telegraph/
