Elections 2025, ECAP: Political parties were fined over 644 thousand euros, 101 thousand euros have been paid so far

The Electoral Complaints and Appeals Panel (ECAP), during the election process for the General Elections for the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, held on 09.02.2025, based on Law No. 08/L-228 on General Elections in the Republic of Kosovo, has received 642 complaints submitted by parties with legal interest.

ECAP announces that for all complaints received, it has managed to review and decide within the deadlines set out in Law No. 08/L-228 on General Elections in the Republic of Kosovo, according to this method of decision-making;

-Approval – 249 decisions,


-Rejection – 242 decisions,

-Unauthorized – 73 decisions,

-Withdrawn – 4 decisions,

-Last term – 53 decisions,

-Submitted to the Independent Media Commission – 17 complaints,

-Submitted to the Press Council – 2 complaints,

-Partially accepted – 2 decisions.

Within the framework of the decisions issued, the ECAP has imposed fines in the amount of 100,0 644,100.00 euro, of which only have been paid so far 101,000.00 euro.

47 appeals have been filed against ECAP decisions with the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kosovo, among them; in 34 cases ECAP decisions are confirmed, 7 decisions are partially amended, while 6 ECAP decisions are amended by the Supreme Court. /Telegrafi/
