The Ferizaj Regional Police has published traffic statistics for the month of January 2026, reporting a total of 149 road accidents in the region that includes the municipalities of Ferizaj, Kaçanik, Shtime, Shtërpcë and Hani i Elezit.
According to the press release, of these accidents, 63 resulted in injuries, with 106 people injured, while 86 accidents resulted in material damage only.
In comparison, during January 2025, a total of 182 accidents were reported, including one fatality, 70 injury accidents with 111 injured persons, and 111 material damage accidents. Compared to the same period last year, the total number of accidents decreased by 18.1 percent.
In terms of punitive measures, the Ferizaj Regional Police announces that during January 2026, a total of 6,914 fines were imposed for various traffic offenses. Also, the protective measure of driver's license revocation was imposed on 110 drivers for serious violations of traffic rules.
In January 2025, 4,758 fines were issued, which represents a 45.3 percent increase in the number of fines during this year.
The Ferizaj Regional Police has emphasized that it will continue with increased commitments and activities aimed at preventing accidents and increasing road safety. At the same time, drivers are called upon to show increased caution in traffic and respect traffic signs and rules.
