Failing to become mayors, 11 candidates are running on the AAK list for MPs

All parties have now published the list of 110 MPs who will compete in the Extraordinary Parliamentary Elections to be held on December 28.
Kosovo suffered for almost a year for a Government, after the regular elections held on February 9, 2025, where the Vetëvendosje Movement emerged victorious - failed to form a government, and even the opposition was not in the mood to create an agreement between them.
Thus, for over ten months, Kosovo has remained hostage to disputes between political parties, losing many international grants and other major agreements, reports Telegrafi.
Our country then, on October 12, entered the Local Elections, which ended after November 9, when the runoff was also held to determine the mayors for the next four years.
When we talk about the competitions held by mayors, the current lists for deputies also include several names that were in the race for mayor.
From the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, the candidates who failed to take the position of mayor, but who entered the race for deputies, are: Bekë Berisha, Zafir Berisha (he was a candidate from NISMA, but who joined AAK), Ali Berisha, Enver Hoti, Hafize Sallahi, Vildane Latifi, Faton Jakupi, Bashkim Budakova, Besnik Krasniqi, Xhemile Murati Shabani, Mensut Ademi.
From the list, it can be seen that AAK has included a total of 11 candidates who failed to be re-elected as mayors, while they are seeking confidence to become MPs. /Telegraph/
